Art sees no shapes, colours, nor boundaries. Prof. Dr. Djajusman Auditorium & Performance Hall was filled with beautiful paintings and artwork from the young people of Daya Pelita Kasih Foundation, a special school for children with special needs. The art exhibition was part of the event Heart for Autism: Charity Night arranged by LSPR-Jakarta.

The event was dedicated to Rumah Autis, a non-profit organisation running autism care programmes. Held from Friday, 22nd to 23rd March 2019,  LSCAA together with LSBA, Daya Pelita Kasih Foundation, Rotary Club of Jakarta Menteng,  LSPR-Jakarta, and more, the evening was inspiring with many of the showcases made by students of LSCAA and LSBA.

The auditorium was truly enlivened by the heart-warming performance of LSCAA band, playing many songs for the audience. The evening then continued with a runway show for Alleira Batik Special Collection by students from LSBA and then an auction session for paintings of the artists from Daya Pelita Kasih Foundation.

The charity night raised Rp. 83,3 million from ticket sales, paintings also the scarf auction and this amount will be donated to Rumah Autis. Education and guidance for young people with special needs are important in order to support them to become independent individuals.

“We cannot change you for the world, but we can change the world for you”, said Gabriella Frederika as Master of Ceremony at the event closing. Photo session and remarks from supporting companies ended the evening. (Nadira,Irfan)
