Jakarta – On Friday 27th August 2021, with a total of 18 students from Hospitality Communication Management & MICE (HCMM) Batch 22 presented their final project “The Concept of International Events”. This project is designed to provide an introduction to the principles of managing international event in the field of Hospitality Communication Management & MICE. A conceptual framework will be developed through definitions, models, and the utilization of event preparation. Consisting of 18 students which were divided into 2 groups presented their work and received an assessment feedback from our external assessor, Prof. Miguel Teles de Menezes from Solbridge International Business School, Woosong University.

As the ceremony begun, LSPR’s Dr. Sri Ulya Suskarwati, Head of UGP in Communication Faculty at LSPR Communication & Business Institute and Dr. Hosae Lee the Department Chair of Restaurant and Entrepreneurship  of Woosong University both started off the ceremony and gave their welcoming remarks, motivation and warming speech for the students who worked hard and gave their best performance on finishing their ideas for their International project. Following the opening remarks, Ms. Rezia Usman, Senior Regional Manager from Woosong University also delivered her greetings to all the participants and she also presented a short video about Woosung University.

Each group created a strategic planning on making an international event for their respective clients: “Grand Jati Junction Medan Apartment” by Group 1 and “Vogel Cafe and Restaurant Bekasi” by Group 2. Each presentation contained the 5 Stages of PR on the Proposal Communication Plan which consists: Researching, Designing Event (Local scope & International Scope), Planning & Execution, Coordinating & Implementation and Evaluating. After the 20 minutes presentation and 10 minutes of Q&A for each group, Prof. Miguel Teles de Menezes then assessed each group by asking them questions related to the ideas of the projects, gave his feedback and more. For more than 2 hours, the international exam was successfully finished.

In addition, after the assessment, Prof. Miguel was very delighted to share a mini lecture and hoping this session will give LSPR students the opportunity to be even more enthusiastic about their future. The theme for the session is TEAM (TRAINING, ENGAGEMENT, ABILITY, MAJESTIC) Succeeding in International Events, the tips are given as training that aims to let them experience and share their histories exceeding guest’s expectations, Engagement between the teams to overcome challenges, Engagement with local community, be different, unique, and keep it local, a yes attitude and an engaging team are the key for a successful event, be creative and innovative and the most important is be yourself and have fun!

This year’s International Exam “The Concept of International Events” from 18 students of HCMM Batch 22 has been successful in demonstrating their hard work and their intense potential in making strategic planning in the field of hospitality and MICE.
