Are You Ready to Study Abroad? Experience the World Through Intercultural Week at LSPR!

Jakarta, October 2026 – LSPR Institute of Communication and Business brought the world closer to its students through “Intercultural Week,” a vibrant five-day celebration of cultural diversity, international friendship, and global learning opportunities. Held from 5–9 October 2026, the event invited students to experience different cultures through international cuisine, cultural exchanges, and language-learning activities, while discovering exciting opportunities to study abroad through LSPR’s international programmes.

The event featured LSPR’s inbound exchange students from The Hague University of Applied Sciences and Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, as well as HSE University in Russia. Representing diverse nationalities, including the Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Russia, these international students brought unique cultural perspectives and experiences to the LSPR community.

Throughout the week, students were introduced to Western and Asian cultures through interactive activities, cultural presentations, and language-learning sessions, creating an engaging platform to celebrate diversity and strengthen intercultural understanding.

The celebration began on 5 October 2026 at LSPR Transpark Bekasi, where inbound exchange students introduced various aspects of Western cultures through traditional food, cultural exchanges, interactive games, and exciting prizes.

Students had the opportunity to sample different European dishes, learn about cultural traditions, and engage directly with their international peers. The lively atmosphere encouraged meaningful conversations, cultural curiosity, and new friendships, creating an inclusive space where students could explore the world without leaving campus.

The cultural celebration continued on 6 October 2026 at LSPR Sudirman Park, where the spotlight shifted to the richness and diversity of Asian cultures. Students were introduced to a variety of Asian dishes and cultural experiences, highlighting the unique traditions, flavours, and customs found across the region. Through food sharing, interactive activities, and cultural discussions, participants gained a deeper appreciation of the similarities and differences between Asian and Western cultures.

The excitement continued from 7–9 October 2026, as Intercultural Week expanded beyond food and cultural exchanges to introduce students to international languages and traditions through three special language and culture days.

On 7 October, Spanish Day invited students to discover the Spanish language and culture through an engaging introductory learning session. Participants had the opportunity to learn basic Spanish expressions, explore cultural insights, and experience the excitement of communicating in a new language.

The following day, 8 October, Chinese Day introduced students to Mandarin and Chinese culture. Through interactive language-learning activities, students explored basic Mandarin vocabulary and expressions.. The session highlighted the importance of language as a bridge for cross-cultural communication and international understanding.

The week concluded on 9 October with Hangul Day, celebrating the Korean language and culture. Students were introduced to Hangul, the Korean writing system, while exploring aspects of Korean traditions and everyday communication. The activity provided a fun and accessible introduction to the language, encouraging students to further explore Korean culture and potential academic opportunities in South Korea.

These language and culture sessions reinforced the idea that learning a new language is more than acquiring communication skills; it is an opportunity to understand different perspectives, build cultural connections, and prepare for international experiences.

Beyond showcasing cultural diversity, Intercultural Week also served as a platform to introduce and promote LSPR’s international programmes, encouraging students to explore opportunities for global academic experiences. Through the Find Your Global Programme and International Student Mobility Day (ISMD) information booths, students could discover various international opportunities offered by LSPR, including Student Exchange, Study Abroad, International Short Mobility, Joint and Double Degree Programmes, and other international academic pathways.
