Organized by the International Relations and Partnership Office (IRPO), Odyssey: Journey Beyond Borders prepares 19 students for their upcoming international academic journey. This year, LSPR students will participate in student exchange and study abroad programs across seven countries: Denmark, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the United States, and Hungary.

Their host institutions include Zealand Academy of Technologies and Business in Denmark; Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS), Hanze University of Applied Sciences, and The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) in the Netherlands; Osaka International University in Japan; Hallym University in South Korea; Taylor’s University in Malaysia; UC Davis in the United States; and Budapest Metropolitan University in Hungary.

To support a smooth and well-prepared mobility experience, IRPO guides the students through each stage of the program, from completing pre-departure documents and coordinating academic and administrative requirements to participating in their academic programs abroad. Students are also expected to maintain communication throughout their mobility period, complete the necessary academic requirements at their host institutions, and submit their final reports upon returning to Indonesia.

To provide first-hand perspectives on studying abroad, the event also featured an alumni sharing session with two former outbound exchange students: Ms. Syafira Amalia, who studied at Kyungwoon University in South Korea under the Visual Communication Design concentration, and Ms. Azka Muthia Anzani, who studied at The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands.

Reflecting on their exchange experiences, they described their journeys in four words: “great,” “amazing,” “unforgettable,” and “valuable.” Beyond academic learning, they shared how studying abroad gave them opportunities to experience different cultures, adapt to new environments, build international friendships, and gain memorable life experiences. They also shared light-hearted stories about cultural differences and everyday moments they encountered while living overseas.

Through its international mobility programs, LSPR encourages students to transform their global experiences into valuable academic, personal, and professional competencies. Upon returning to Indonesia, students are expected to bring home broader perspectives, international knowledge, intercultural awareness, and global connections that will contribute to their future development in the fields of communication and business.

Through “Odyssey: Journey Beyond Borders,” LSPR continues its commitment to providing students with meaningful international exposure and preparing them to become globally minded professionals ready to navigate an increasingly interconnected world.
