Joint Degree and Double Degree
Joint Degree is where LSPR students can get a chance to earn 2 degrees after successful completion of study requirements from LSPR and another university abroad. This program allows students earn 2 degrees in a span of 4 years only. LSPR students need to pay their tuition fee in LSPR while they are studying in LSPR. They also need to pay for the tuition fee in the foreign university during their study period abroad, together with the living cost and personal expenses. The subjects learnt during these semesters have to be agreed upon by LSPR, as the credits for subjects learnt in the foreign university will be transferred back to their respective home institutions.
The study duration abroad ranges from 1 year (3+1) to 2 years (2+2). In the 3+1 Dual Degree Programme, the students will study in LSPR for the first 3 years and finish their final year abroad to obtain the degrees. In the 2+2 Dual Degree Programme, the students will study in LSPR for the first two years and finish the rest of the two years in the host university abroad to obtain the degrees.
A double degree is an academic program where a student can earn two bachelor’s degrees from two different educational institutions simultaneously. In a double degree program, students will follow the curriculum set by both institutions, and upon completing all the necessary requirements, they will be awarded a bachelor’s degree from both institutions. A double degree program usually involves collaboration between universities or educational institutions in different countries. Students will spend some time studying at each institution, and the result is earning two degrees that are recognized both in their home country and in the country offering the program.
